Your First Visit

At the first visit, Dr Chisholm will review your medical history and complete a full oral examination, as well as take study photos and x-rays. Photos are required for medico-legal reasons as well as providing a great way to see how you are progressing through treatment. X-rays are also necessary as they show all your teeth and their surrounding bone structure which are required for an informed treatment plan.

We will write a full written report, which is sent to you after your visit as well as a copy to your General Dentist along with the x-rays and photos. At this appointment, we will discuss information regarding costs and financial plans for treatment.

Dr Chisholm and her staff take time with all new patients and allow an hour to discuss treatment plans and talk to you about any concerns or questions you may have. Because this is a longer appointment they are generally made between 9 am and 3 pm. This allows us to schedule as many patients as possible for short adjustment appointments after or before work or school. During your treatment, we will do our best to schedule your appointments around your commitments as much as possible.

Initial consultation fees are due on the day of consultation and we accept cash, cheque and EFTPOS. Initial consultation services are claimable with your private health fund as they are categorised under ‘general dental’.
