Your First Visit

At your first visit, Dr Chisholm will review your medical and dental history and complete a full orthodontic assessment. This includes checking your teeth alignment, bite, jaw position and overall oral health, and discussing your main concerns and goals for treatment. We’ll take clinical photographs and orthodontic X-rays to better understand the position of your teeth and jaws and to help us plan the safest, most effective approach. We’ll explain what we’re looking for, answer your questions, and outline what treatment may involve, including any timing considerations.

After your appointment, we prepare a detailed written report for you and send a copy to your general dentist (with relevant photos/X-rays) so everyone involved in your care is on the same page. We’ll talk you through the recommended options along with expected timeframes, what to expect during treatment, and the fees involved. We will also discuss our in-house, interest free payment plans to help you budget with confidence.

Consultation fees are payable on the day of your appointment. We accept cash, EFTPOS and Afterpay and we can process most private health fund claims where applicable. If your policy includes orthodontic cover, your fund may contribute to treatment costs—often through a separate lifetime orthodontic benefit and/or annual limits. Because each policy is different, we recommend confirming your level of cover and any waiting periods directly with your health fund. If benefits change during treatment, the financially responsible party remains responsible for all fees.
