More About Dr Neena Chisholm
Dr Neena Chisholm is a specialty trained orthodontist. This training extended for 3 years and focussed exclusively on the field of orthodontics. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the University of Adelaide and Edinburgh.
Neena’s research thesis (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) was on the growth and development of the jaw bone. This research convinced Neena that early treatment allowed remodelling of the jaw bone to alter the growth process of the jawline and the palate of a child. This results in an improved aesthetic result without the need for teeth extraction.
Dr Neena Chisholm’s areas of interest include early treatment of children to help jaw growth and aesthetic treatment in adults (Invisalign and lingual braces). Neena is an accredited Invisalign practitioner.
Dr Chisholm is a member of the Australian Dental Association as well as the Australian Society of Orthodontics. As part of her work she also treats patients with medical problems, syndromes and clefts in association with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the Australian Craniofacial Unit. Neena is an excellent clinician and takes pride in providing her patients with personal care and a pleasant experience.
Neena is married and has three children, Gabrielle, Rachel and Isaac. As a mother, Dr Chisholm relates well to children and takes special care of their needs.
