Invisalign is a method of straightening teeth without braces, using a series of aligners. There are no wires, metal or brackets to cause mouth abrasions and means that you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth.

Many adults (and an increasing number of teenagers) are treated with Invisalign; however, patients need to be assessed for suitability for this type of treatment.

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of removable aligners that you change every two weeks. Each aligner is individually designed for your teeth and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by Dr Chisholm.

Invisalign uses 3D imaging equipment to plan your treatment so you will be able to see what your teeth will look like after the treatment before you even begin wearing your first set of Invisalign aligners.

An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about 12- 18 months. You will visit us every 8 – 10 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At these appointments, you will receive a new set of aligners.
