A syndrome is a collection of multiple symptoms and can manifest in facial and dental variations. A cleft is a congenital condition where the lip/palate of both don’t fuse during developmental process in the womb. Dr Chisholm has been treating children with the various syndromes and clefts of the lip and palate for many years and has an interest in improving the outcomes for children with these conditions. Treatment is commenced early to improve speech and mastication as well as to allow teeth to erupt into the proper positions as well as to allow the soft tissues to develop as normally as possible.
